Okay so I'm going to be honest and say my plan was to post every 5 days but on the 10th I was boogieing at Scott's cousins wedding in Philadelphia and we had to drive 13 hours back therefore I'm just now getting around to writing this post. *sigh*
Without further adieu I am thankful for LOVE!
Scott and I drove to Philadelphia this past weekend for his cousins wedding and to celebrate his grandmother turning 80. Pretty awesome huh?! On the way there we stopped in Virginia at a rest area, kind of in a rush, but saw this LOVE display and I had to take a picture in it. During our picture we met this amazing couple in ministry, with the purest spirits and the CUTEST baby who reminded us the importance of just enjoying this time and not always being in a rush. (Go figure) I just knew God wanted us to have that reminder and to remember to be in the moment of where ever we are, never missing His goodness.
Initially we weren't going to go just because we have so much going on and so much that we are trying to get in order but despite all of that I kept feeling in my spirit to take this time for one another. If you've noticed in my posts from this summer I was super busy! With all of my travels, my honey was either traveling himself or he was working hard. When I took a moment to think about our 2013 I realized that we haven't had a trip TOGETHER all year!! In the 7 years we've been together and 6 years married that is a FIRST! When I had this revelation I knew we needed to take this trip and I am so happy we did.
When Scott and I were dating he took me to Virginia for my birthday!

And let me just say that I'm convinced I can eat from Larry's like everyday and while I was there I tried to. I always create an itinerary when we travel and I decided I wanted to be a tourist on this trip. The last time we visited Philadelphia was for his grandfather's funeral which was the first time I had ever been to the city and met that side of the family. I was so excited to be able to go back for a happier occasion, to see the family, and just check out parts of the city I usually read about! The first and main attraction on my list was Love Park.
I will admit the statue looks much bigger on T.V. but I didn't care because I was excited to be there with my husband! We also visited the visitors center and the Liberty Bell Center which is on my list for the next time we go because the inside was closed:
What/Who do you need to rekindle your love to? Make time to be in that moment without rushing it to be over! #pressOn
All my love,
Caneeka
P.S. Mommies I promise I'm working on Tre's Bookshelf posts! We just got some new books from the school book fair and I'm so excited to share them!
