30 poems. 30 days: Day 4 Wonder[ful] Woman

There are women at war with other women. Women at war with themselves. Women at war in their homes. Women at war with the war in the streets worried that their children will be killed; worried that, as a woman, they might die during their walk home. In an alley from sexual assault or during a search for weapons of mass destruction. Yet they still walk like WARRIORS, heads held high, protecting what they have; saving the world. But even the wonder women have moments of protest. Encourage them and count your blessings!

Wonder[ful] Woman

walk.
this way.
when words wrap around my wheels,
on the brain cells that produce wisdom.
We fight wars for WEAPONS that the MASSes can’t understand.
while Wives and Children die before they were supposed to be called.
Women wear veils to hide the bags they wear on wounded hearts.
whatever makes you smile whenever we’re in separation.
We [lie] [dying] our hair different colors to hide our natural age.
without peacemaking strategies,
in order to save the world from withering into isolation.
And we WONDER what WOMAN didn’t stop to complain...

4 being appreciative
