"A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials, heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine, desert us when troubles thicken around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts."-Washington Irving
I am thankful for my mother.
She is a phenomenal woman.
Full
of life, laughter, love, intelligence and sassiness.
She has never met a
stranger and if she has they probably felt like they’ve known her their entire
life. She’s the life of every party and the gate keeper of every piece of
random information anyone would ever need. She has a laugh that’s infectious
and a smile that absolutely radiant. When I became an adult I explained to her
that as a kid it was hard for me to take her seriously when she was angry
because she has these permanent smile lines that are there even when she tries
to discipline. Even though I didn’t test her gangsta I would always be in my
room laughing at how funny she looked fussing and being “angry.”
She taught me
the rule of thumb to friendships is that they change and in realizing that many
moons later I was able to secure the heart that I wore on my sleeve; a heart
that she kept tucked away. Her life slogan is that she’s a jack of all trades
(and if you ever call her at work and ask her what she’s doing you’ll be like, “okay
now what is your job title again?” lol!
She’s my heart, my homie, my source of
entertainment.
I couldn’t imagine having anyone else as my mom!
*muah*
All my love,
Caneeka
