"The Delta girl is one who has been given the
opportunity of education and broad development: she is one who has enjoyed the
privileges of culture and selected environment...It is pleasing to a heartfelt
depth to see her not as self centered, not desirous of selfish power, not
wanting the plaudits of people, not wanting glory- but with a purpose which
directs her activities and all that she may control toward lifting somebody
else." -Soror Mary McCleod-Bethune.
I am thankful for Delta Sigma Theta.
I love my sisters!
I have met some amazing women through the sisterhood of Delta and I would not trade my experience for anything in the world. At the age of 19, in my interview, I shared that I wanted to be a Delta to change the world one woman at a time. I wanted to give a voice to the silent, laughter to the broken, prayer for the lost, and healing to those unable to mend those dark places in their lives.
My vision to encourage women and girls, to be a light, to share my story with whomever listens is still true today. I pray that Delta continues to serve as a driving force in the community being that encouragement for women to be all that they can be; Uplifting girls beyond body image issues, abusive relationships, and low self-esteem. I pray that Delta always remembers the ideals of our illustrious founders to do and go where no one has dared to go in the realm of changing lives for a greater good!

All my love,
