“No self-respecting woman should wish or work for the success of a party that ignores her sex.”
Susan B. Anthony, 1872.
Today I’m thankful to be a woman who rocks her right to vote!

I think it’s important for your voice to be heard. You spend a period of time taking in the information, being objective (I hope), and ultimately making the best choice for your desires for the future. As a woman having someone in place who recognizes that beyond our womanhood we are teachers, leaders, ministers, lovers, peacemakers, we hold high offices, we raise families (sometimes by ourselves) and we make it look damn good, is very important to me.
We are also faced with decisions we don’t want to make, condemned for wanting to choose who we love and how we express ourselves, attacked in alleys we don’t want to be in, judged by the length of our skirts and deemed worthy of being victimized. For me I need someone who will envision a future for women on equal standing ground, protected from the thieves, and praised for her great deeds.
Women stood up, spoke out, marched, and made MOVEments so that I could utilize this platform that God gave me to do the same.
So…
For public education.
For financial aid. For birth control.
For control of my body.
For WOMEN!
For equality.
For not dying from disease.
For being fair.
For the 47%.
For understanding that God is the only person who can judge how a person lives and the choices they make not MAN.
I voted because too many stood for me not to do so!
We will move Forward. Press Onward.
It is done.
If we, as a community, will stop trying to go against the grain and really step out on a mission to make a difference more could get done than we allow our eyes to see.

For my son.
Your son. Your daughters.
Cousins, siblings, friends, and family.
Be the change!
